For this class we will be creating two body goodies, Aromatherapy Shower Tablets and Relaxing Bath Bags, using essential oils and dried herbs.
The Shower Tablets will be created using lavender and chamomile. Lavender and chamomile blossoms both offer calming and soothing benefits on their own and adding essential oils provides even more benefits. Some oils also have anti-inflammatory and healing benefits, perfect when you’re fighting off an illness.
The Relaxing Bath Bags will be created using oatmeal and lavender. If you find yourself with dry itchy skin, or you’re suffering from a nasty rash or sunburn, an oatmeal bath is a wonderful way to relieve your ailments. Oatmeal is known to help reduce inflammation, and any discomfort that comes with it. Itchy dry skin is also often caused by lower PH levels, and oatmeal can help restore your PH to normal. On top of all of this saponins, a chemical compound found in oatmeal, really lifts up and absorbs dirt and excess oils from the skin, while also acting as a natural anti-bacterial cleanser. The herbs added to this can be chosen at will - I love lavender for a particularly relaxing bath.
After you learn the basics of how to create these two body goodies, you can add different essential oils and herbs to make a customized blend of your favorites. The list below gives some ideas:
